Dans ce tetrapeptide de synthèse, la partie active est le tripeptide GHK (association de 3 acides aminés Glycine, Histidine, Lysine). Il est scientifiquement prouvé que ce tripeptide aide à la reconstruction cutanée en stimulant entre autre la production des constituants de la matrice extracellulaire.
Ainsi le tripeptide GHK redensifie la peau en stimulant la biosynthèse du collagène, de protéoglycanes et de glycoaminoglycanes contenus naturellement dans le derme. C’est la bonne qualité du derme, qui donne à la peau sa fermeté et sa densité.
Dans une étude clinique, il a été montré que le tripeptide GHK diminuait significativement la profondeur des rides et des ridules. Il s’agit donc d’une molécule anti-âge intéressante qui doit être utilisée sur une durée prolongée (plusieurs mois) puisque l’effet attendu de redensification dermique n’est bien sûr pas immédiat.
