Proven effectiveness

Glabridin is the main component of the hydrophobic fraction of Liquorice extracts.
The history of liquorice dates back several centuries. It was already mentioned in Chinese treatises on traditional herbalism and in the papyrus scrolls of ancient Egypt. Traditional Chinese medicine also recommended using liquorice root for treating various complaints.
Liquorice root contains numerous polyphenols, Glabridin being the main component. It has an antioxidant effect, destroying free radicals, and it inhibits melanogenesis, the synthesis of melanin.
Glabridin is used in cosmetics for its lightening and depigmentation properties.
This pure Active comes from a liquorice root extract. ETAT PUR has selected a Chinese producer committed to a responsible, environmentally friendly approach.
The active fraction sought is gradually extracted from the liquorice roots to obtain a liquorice extract containing more than 40% Glabridin.
The quality control of this ingredient is handled by DIPTA, the research centre and inspection laboratory for the ETAT PUR, BIODERMA and ESTHEDERM brands in Aix-en-Provence.
All details concerning the origin and quality of this pure Active are filed by ETAT PUR and can be accessed by all inspection bodies, which guarantees us total confidentiality in data processing.
Opinion of the dermatologist
Glabridin - Pure Active A71
Glabridin is a molecule whose melanogenesis-inhibiting effect (production of melanin, which is the brown pigment in the skin) is significant and proven. It is therefore a depigmentation active with considerable potential.
It should be borne in mind, however, that hyperpigmentation is still difficult to treat in dermatology, particularly when the pigment is present deep within the skin. There should therefore be no hesitation in combining several depigmentation actives, acting on melanogenesis in various ways to optimize the results. Combination with Arbutin pure Active or kojic acid (shortly available on the ETAT PUR website) may thus be proposed. If the results are insufficient, consult your dermatologist, who will be able to discuss other solutions with you (preparations containing hydroquinone, peeling, laser pigment or flash lamp treatment).
Finally, I can never say often enough that, if you have problems with dark spots and hyperpigmentation, the sun is your worst enemy; solar eviction therefore and applications of high factor sun cream several times a day to provide protection against UVBs (SPF 50+) and UVAs during months when the sun is strong (from April/May to October).
